PETERSBURG, VA — Elite Medicare Specialists will host its Senior Community Resource Day & Customer Appreciation Event on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at its Petersburg office in the Burgess Shopping Center, 2557 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, VA 23805.

The event is free and open to the public and is designed to bring valuable health, safety and community resources together in one convenient location for area seniors, caregivers and their families.

“Our goal is to create a day where seniors can come out, ask questions, learn something new and connect with organizations that can help them live healthier, safer and more confidently,” said Tia Vango of Elite Medicare Specialists. “We work with seniors every day, and we know that many of the questions they have extend far beyond Medicare. This event gives us an opportunity to bring some of those resources directly to our community.”

A Day of Resources, Education & Connection

​Throughout the day, attendees will have an opportunity to meet representatives from local healthcare and community organizations, participate in free health screenings, attend educational presentations and learn about resources available to seniors throughout the Petersburg area.

The day's activities will include:

• Free health screenings

• Health and wellness talks featuring local healthcare professionals

• Senior safety education and resources

• Community organizations and resource vendors

• Giveaways and door prizes

• Food trucks on site, with food available for purchase

• Opportunities to ask questions and connect directly with local organizations and professionals

Attendees are welcome to come for one session or spend the entire day exploring the resources available.

Featured Senior Safety Panel

One of the day's featured programs will be the Senior Safety Panel Discussion from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

Local leaders and professionals will share information, practical guidance and resources intended to help seniors remain safe, healthy and informed.

The panel will include representatives from law enforcement, healthcare, elder law and community service, with Traci Spencer, Managing Partner with Integrity Marketing Group, serving as moderator.

The event will also feature health and wellness education focused on issues that directly affect older adults, including preventive health, maintaining independence, recognizing medical emergencies, fall prevention, mobility and other senior health concerns.

Celebrating Our Clients While Serving Our Community

The September event also serves as Elite Medicare Specialists' Customer Appreciation Day, providing the agency with an opportunity to thank the clients and families it serves while opening the celebration to the broader community.

Existing Elite Medicare Specialists clients are encouraged to attend and bring a friend, neighbor or family member.

For community residents who are not currently clients, no relationship with Elite Medicare Specialists is required to participate. The event is free and open to the public.
